By using debugly.dev you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain language because nobody reads the other kind.

Using the site

You are welcome to read anything here, quote it, link to it, and use the code in your own projects. That is the entire point.

You may not:

  • Republish whole posts on another site, with or without attribution
  • Scrape the site systematically or in a way that degrades it for other readers
  • Present the writing as your own
  • Use the site to distribute malware or attempt to break into it
  • Use automated tools to spam the comments

Copyright and reuse

Written content on this site is copyright Rohit Bhadani unless stated otherwise.

You may quote up to roughly 200 words in a post or article provided you attribute it clearly and link back to the original. You do not need to ask.

You may not republish a full post elsewhere. If you want to translate a post into another language, email me. I will usually say yes and I will link to your translation.

Code samples in posts are released under the MIT License. Copy them, modify them, ship them commercially, no attribution required. They are examples written to illustrate a point, not production libraries, and they come with no warranty of any kind.

Accuracy and the nature of this content

Debugly publishes technical writing about debugging software. Everything here is written in good faith based on real investigations, and it is still going to go out of date.

Software versions change. A fix that was correct for Postgres 16.3 may be wrong for 18. A Shopify theme technique that worked under one version of the platform may break under the next. I state versions on posts precisely so you can judge this, and I update posts when I learn they are wrong, but I cannot guarantee that any given post is current.

Test everything in a non production environment first. The advice here is offered as information, not as professional consulting for your specific system. See the disclaimer.

Comments

Comments are open and lightly moderated. Keep it useful: corrections, additions, questions, disagreement with reasoning.

I remove comments that are spam, promotional, abusive, off topic, or that post someone's private information. I do not remove comments simply for disagreeing with me, including quite bluntly.

You keep ownership of what you write in a comment. By posting it you grant me a non exclusive right to display it on the site and to quote it in a related post, with credit.

Newsletter

Subscribing means you get an email when a new post is published. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. I may remove inactive subscribers periodically to keep delivery healthy.

Third party links

Posts link out to documentation, repositories, tools, and other writing. I do not control those sites and I am not responsible for their content, availability, or how they handle your data.

Advertising and affiliates

At the time of writing there is no advertising on this site and no affiliate links.

If either changes, it will be disclosed. Advertising will be labelled as such, and any post containing an affiliate link will say so at the top of the post rather than in small print at the bottom. Advertising will never determine what I write or what conclusion I reach. See the editorial policy.

No warranty

The site and its content are provided "as is". I make no warranties, express or implied, about accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. This includes data loss, downtime, lost revenue, and consequential damages.

If you break your production database by following a post without testing it first, I am sympathetic and I am not liable.

This is a personal blog. It may go down, change, or move without notice. Posts may be edited or removed.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute.
